Faith to Faith $5.99 You can learn from other people even when you disagree. In this enlightening story about an interfaith symposium, nine engaging people – each representing a different religion – present their own spiritual views. In the “journal notes” that follow each presentation, you’ll discover that as a Christian who is looking for truth, you have a lot in common with seekers in other religions. You’ll see how to use those shared hopes and goals to build relationships, to talk honestly and lovingly about the important differences between the religions, and to assess your own understanding of orthodox Christianity. You’ll also see that God is continuing to reach out to all people through the gospel of Jesus Christ. |

Your Faith
James Cleveland “Where is Your Faith” Metro Mass Choir COGIC
Which is more important in your faith path – a personal relationship with the divine or following doctrine?
Please do mention your faith path/particular tradition/sect and why you feel the one is more important than the other.
As a follower of the Egyptian Gods, particularly Set and Sekhmet, I feel a more personal basis with them rather than doctrine.
After all, I do not read heiroglyphics all that well, though I am trying to learn them, so the only doctrine I have to look to, is translated from scholars. Now, sure, they have done a cracking job, but… And this is a big but, there is no guarantee that what they think they know, is correct.
A bunch of symbols could mean anything. Same with the Runes of your own faith. How can we say we know 100% what something is, when it is merely a symbol which back then, could mean anything?
So as such, I follow my gods in my own way. Kind of Eclectic in a way, but as opposed to seeing the gods as physical manifestations, I see them as spiritual representations of the energies, both material and otherwise, which surround us daily.
The cat currently sat on my lap trying to stop me typing for instance, is a part of Bastet. Life in itself takes its energy from Anubis, Ra or Osiris etc etc.
From one philosophical book I have which analyses the Egyptian culture, this may have been how they saw it as well, that each blade of grass was a god, etc. It seems to adhere to my principles, so I feel drawn to it.
As to more important to another? I don’t think it is. But that doesn’t matter. All that matters is that it is more important to me. I would not base my own personal faith on the beliefs of another.
My partner for instance is Druidic. We understand each others beliefs for what they are and leave it at that.

Chuck Close - $14.99 Chuck Close travels into the world of one of the late 20th and early 21st century’s most highly singular visual artists. The eponymous subject of the title opted, early on, to exclusively devote all of his time and creative energy to constructing massive human likenesses, “deconstructed” into enlarged photographs, self-portraits, images from other artists, and a host of other ephemera. From a close vantage point, the overall image can be neither discerned nor detected, but when one stands at a considerable distance, the smaller components “coalesce” into a fluid whole. As documentarist Marion Cajori subtly reminds the audience time and again, the most astonishing aspect of Close’s artistic construction (especially given the photo shoots, image selection, and other elements that go into the process) involves his 20 year physical paralysis. The central narrative of Cajori’s film witnesses Close’s construction of one such portrait (with the help of many assistants) over an 80+ day period; she also works in footage from a biographical sketch of Close that she shot in 1998, clips of the artist and his colleagues, and a number of additional sources – hence mirroring, in the creation of her own biographical portrait of Close, the process by which Close creates a new work of art. Chuck Close also represents the final cinematic work of acclaimed documentarist Cajori, who died shortly after editing this motion picture; it took her 13 years to complete, from 1993 to 2006. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi |

Where Is President Obama Leading Us?
President Obama has demonstrated that he has the moral and political fortitude to push his own agenda, regardless of the wishes of most Americans. We need only look to the Health Care Bill which was passed despite obvious opposition by the American people. Many elected officials in the Legislative Branch made deals, bowed to political pressure from the White House, and essentially ignored what their constituents wanted. It was one of the major reasons so many democrat incumbents who assisted in doing so were voted out of office in the recent elections. It’s a topic all its own and I only use it to set up the thesis of another important matter…
I believe a much more grave issue of prophetic proportions is on the horizon. Namely that now that the elections are over, President Obama will turn his attention to the Middle East; and while most Americans support Israel, there is strong evidence that President Obama does not! The crisis in Egypt and, indeed, many other places in the Middle East is also setting the stage for prophetic events to happen. See also The Muslim Brotherhood’s Threat to Israel for details!
Moreover, President Obama surely knows his odds of reelection are, how shall we say, “less than favorable” and that he would likely have to provide a birth certificate demonstrating he is a natural born citizen of the U.S. per the constitutional requirements of the office.
Thus, we may very well be looking at a rogue president with nothing to lose by forcing as much of his agenda as possible in the remaining two years of his presidency. What makes President Obama’s potential to dismiss the best interest and wishes of the American people even more ominous is that the office he holds is arguably the most powerful political office in the world. With a potentially limited term, it could even be argued that if he is seeking political advantage outside the borders of the U.S., then supporting an agenda closer to that which much of the rest of the world holds would be a way to accomplish that objective (particularly if it lined up with his own beliefs anyway). It’s yet another reason Israel (and the friends thereof) should be concerned: because much of the world is anti-Israel (especially Muslim nations). In light of that, it is interesting that in yet another controversial move, President Obama recently made history as the first U.S. President to chair a U.N. meeting. Many suggest he is positioning himself for a future role within the U.N. As for Israel, even as I write this I am seeing news reports that explain many experts believe President Obama will likely blame Israel for the failed peace talks with the Palestinians and that, as a result, he will support a United Nations effort to recognize a Palestinian state. Historically, the U.S. has exercised it veto power within the U.N. because it only does what is in the best interest of the U.S. and its close allies; therefore, Israel has been saved from its enemies within the U.N. However, if the U.S. were to withdraw that support, it would leave Israel very vulnerable to U.N. resolutions that would not favor the nation of Israel. What makes it all the more interesting is what is foretold in Zechariah 12:2-3, where we read that at some point in the future “all nations of the earth” will be against Israel:
- I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves. (Emphasis added)
PRESIDENT OBAMA’S STATEMENT ABOUT ISRAEL
So, then, it’s not really of any surprise that we have recently seen the United States pulling back its support for Israel compared to the strong alliance the United States and Israel once enjoyed. In his speech to the U.N. General Assembly in late September 2009, President Obama said, “America does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements.” First, let’s note that he is speaking as if he is speaking for “America”, yet poll after poll suggest that is not how most U.S. citizens view Israel! Once again we are witness to the fact President Obama will do whatever his own personal agenda and beliefs dictate, regardless of how most Americans feel about a given issue. President Obama was talking about Israel building homes in the area of land called the West Bank, yet this is land that is rightfully Israel’s via a promise from God to Abraham and his descendants recorded in Genesis 15:18-21, as well as by the fact Israel took the land back during the Six-Day War, which they were lawfully allowed to do under international law (not unlike how most nations, including the United States, have the land they now occupy).
It’s important that we recognize Israel is very small and does not have land that it can easily afford to give away, especially when we understand that it is still rapidly growing in population. Moreover, if the West Bank were to be given to the Palestinians, Israel would then be only nine miles wide in a location directly north of Tel Aviv. As we look at a map, we realize that it would be nearly dividing the country in two and that it would make the Israeli citizens much more vulnerable to military attack. If that’s Not Enough, Israel is being asked to give the land to an enemy that time and time again has fired missiles and launched attacks against Israel and her people. What makes President Obama’s rhetoric even more suspicious is that after the disputed elections in Iran (with protestors in the streets complaining the election was not democratic), he said that he would not get involved because Iran was a sovereign nation; yet a short time later we saw him getting involved with Israel’s right to build homes within its own borders, and he continues to do so today as much as ever.
WHERE IS THE U.S. IN END-TIMES BIBLE PROPHECY?
As noted, we know the Bible says that at the very least the United States will not be on the side of Israel. That also has to take place because of the way in which God once again will permit Israel to be victorious, which would not be as miraculous if a superpower were on Israel’s side. The reason why the U.S. will be “against Israel” is not clearly known. Many eschatologists theorize that the Rapture will have taken the Christians (and thus, the driving force behind why the U.S. is “Jewish-friendly”) away. Indeed, such an event would thrust the entire world into a chaotic situation and open the need for a so-called “savior” to offer peace and stability to a world in turmoil; hence, it would provide an opportune time for the Antichrist to enter the scene. There are many other theories that, when especially combined with the rapture theory, easily explain how the U.S. will be absent from end-times prophecy. I explain them all in my book, Pray That You May Escape; but for the lack of space and due to the focus of this article, I will not include them all here. Suffice it to say, no matter how it
happens, we know it will happen because God’s Word says so. Another disconcerting issue is that when President Obama was elected, the American people knew so very little about him (and to some extent we still don’t know all that much, especially in light of the position he holds). As Chuck Missler once said, “The U.S. population got an I.Q. Test, and failed!” Indeed our knowledge of President Obama’s school records and place of birth are murky at best, as he spends a considerable amount of money keeping them from our awareness. WHY? Anyone with a reasonable amount of discernment knows he is hiding something.
To use an analogy, it would be like walking into the kitchen and finding a plate of cookies beside a 3 year old that is standing there with his hands behind his back. You then ask him if he has anything in his hands and he sheepishly replies, “no”. So you ask if You Can see his hands and he refuses to show you. You ask several more times, at first nicely, and then a little more sternly, perhaps even demanding that you see his hands; and yet he still refuses, and even begins to retreat. If he didn’t have something to hide, then why would he just not show his hands to easily prove that? Obviously because he does, indeed, have something to hide.
President Obama says he is a Christian, but he gives every indication he is a Muslim through his actions. As we all know, actions speak louder than words. Moreover, according to the Koran, a Muslim has permission to lie to the “infidels” (even pretending to befriend them) if doing so ultimately will help the Nation of Islam. It is called “Al-taqiyya.”
Consequently, we should look to one’s actions, not their words, more than ever concerning such matters. Not because we are on some religious “witch hunt”, but because knowing someone’s faith (particularly someone that holds a powerful position and whose faith is hateful and violent against anyone outside that faith), helps us determine what their underlying motives, beliefs, political and religious agenda may be. As we do so with President Obama, I believe the actions are telling…
Referring to the United States, President Obama has gone out of his way more than once to proclaim we are not a Christian nation. Why would a Christian, surely either aware of our deep Christian heritage or extremely ill-equipped to hold the office of President, say that about the United States? Moreover, why would he say that the Muslim call to prayer is “one of the prettiest sounds on earth”, when anyone with just a little knowledge about such matters understands that Islam commands its followers to hate Christians? Surely, as the Christian he claims to be, he knows that the Muslim faith contradicts God’s Word wherein Jesus says in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Also, in a speech he distinguished himself from Christians that believes in the authority of the Bible by saying, “Now this is going to be difficult for some who believe in the inerrancy of the Bible, as many evangelicals do.” He then went on in that speech to make fun of scripture and take some verses out of context. Does that sound like something a true Christian would do? Moreover, examining his actions, we know that President Obama stands against the principles most Christians hold dear. For example, he is pro-abortion (and even supports the horrendous partial-birth abortion practices that many pro-abortion people concede is going too far) and he strongly supports homosexuality (despite numerous places in the Bible explaining it is an immoral lifestyle that God does not condone).
In light of what we do and do not know about President Obama and the political environment in which we are in right now, the question is: “Where is President Obama leading us?”
As we ponder that important question and continue to watch the news unfold, we should follow Christ’s words in Luke 21:36, wherein Jesus told us, “Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”

History Of The Devil $12.52 Rated: NASynopsis: The History of the Devil charts the evolution the idea of a supreme embodiment of evil from the time of the ancient gods to the present day. This critical analysis provides insightful analysis of the origins of Devil and the way in which it has been used over the centuries.Beginning with the early days of religion, when there was not a clear distinction between good and evil, The History of the Devil charts the birth of the idea. It was the philosopher Zoroaster who first put forward the notion of simplifying the many different gods into just two – one good and one evil. That idea made its way into Islam and Judaism, and flowed through into Christianity. |

The Devil’s Rain $11.25 Rated: NASynopsis: In the wake of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist, the devil and his disciples became prime subject for independent filmmakers. The Devil’s Rain is one of the better films that came from the flood. Corbis (Ernest Borgnine) hunts a Midwest family as he searches for “The Book,” an ancient tome stolen centuries ago containing the names of the devil cult’s disciples written in their own blood. As he turns the family one by one into dead-eyed soldiers for Satan, surviving son Tom Skerrit struggles to free them and keep the tome out of Corbis’s hands. Robert Fuest, who directed the offbeat cult classics The Abominable Dr. Phibes and Dr. Phibes Rises Again, cranks up the ghoul factor with arresting images of the black-eyed zombies wandering through a desert ghost town. The cast (including a stiff William Shatner and a tired Ida Lupino) is more solemn than spirited. Only Borgnine sinks his teeth into his role, preaching the word of the devil with gusto and theatrical flourish and transforming into a horned demon in a blood ceremony. It’s an inconsistent picture but Fuest creates moments of gripping horror and builds to a dynamic climax that delivers the promised devil’s rain with sizzling results. The film has garnered some fame as John Travolta’s film debut, but he’s practically unrecognizable as a hooded cult follower. –Sean Axmaker Heaven Help Us When the Devil’s Rain! Patriarch Steve Preston goes missing and worried mom Emma (Ida Lupino) sends eldest son Mark (William Shatner) in search for his father. Suddenly, a dying, eyeless Steve returns and demands that the family: “Give Corbis what belongs to him!” before dissolving into a gelatinous meltdown. Corbis (Ernest Borgnine) is a Satanic priest hell-bent on recovering a valuable book listing the names of those who sold their souls to the devil. . . a book that resides with the Preston family. Mark refuses to hand it over and puts up a brave fight, only to wind up an unwilling sacrifice. Occult expert, Dr. Richards (Eddie Albert) and Mark’s younger brother, Tom (Tom Skerritt) plot to free the Prestons and destroy The Devil’s Rain, a bottle containing the souls of those already damned. The battle rages as the elixir is released and a bloody rain of devilry and malevolence is loosed upon a screaming, melting world. |

Devil’S Dance $12.99 Once upon a time Niccolo Paganini was accused of demonic possession for his supposed sorcery with the violin. Now, fiddle superstar Gil Shaham, who always seemed like a such a nice boy, is consorting with the devil’s music in this widely varied collection, going right for the heart of the matter with Paganini’s B flat major caprice and such favorites as Giuseppe Tartini’s notorious ‘Devil’s Trill’ sonata and Camille Saint-Sa?ns’ wonderfully spooky ‘Danse Macabre.’ Many would say there’s no scarier place than Hollywood, and the film soundstage is visited via John Williams’ ‘Devil1s Dance’ from “The Witches of Eastwick” and John Morris’ ‘Transylvanian Lullaby’ from “Young Frankenstein.” But the best way to evoke the devil is to play like him, and Shaham does that most effectively in the wild difficulties of Antonio Bazzini1s ‘La Ronde des Lutins.’ William Bolcom’s gently nostalgic ‘Graceful Ghost’ rag may have been included mainly for its title but provides soothing relief in the middle of an otherwise high-spirited round of fun and games. |

Devil in the Flesh/Devil in the Flesh 2 - $9.99 Includes:Devil in the Flesh (1997), MPAA Rating: R Devil in the Flesh 2 (2000) Devil in the Flesh Teenage lust turns deadly in this slightly campy exploitation drama. Debbie Strand (Rose McGowan) is a sexy but troubled teenager with a checkered past who is sent to live with her grandmother after the death of her parents. Grandma attempts to keep Debbie on a short leash, but she’s soon sneaking out for not always wholesome fun with her new friends. Debbie, who has never had trouble attracting whatever man she wants, sets her sights on Peter Rinaldi (Alex McArthur), a teacher at her high school. However, Peter has both a fianc?e and strong scruples, so he repeatedly rejects Debbie’s advances. But Hell hath no fury like a Debbie scorned, and before long Peter finds that his life is ruined and bodies are piling up, as an angry Ms. Strand takes her revenge on her would-be suitor. Also released under the title Dearly Devoted (and not based on the oft-filmed Raymond Radiguet novel), Devil in the Flesh was co-scripted by Kelly Carlin-McCall, daughter of noted comedian George Carlin. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi Devil in the Flesh 2 One of the more difficult high school students in cinematic history moves on to college in this sexy thriller. Debbie Strand (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe, in the role Rose McGowan played in the first film) was sentenced to a mental institution for the criminally insane after her previous murder spree, but she manages to escape, and while making her getaway by hitchhiking, she’s picked up by Sydney Hollings (Christiana Frank), a student on her way to start classes at an upscale college nearby. Debbie murders Sydney and assumes her identity in hopes of avoiding the police, but Debbie’s obsession with older men starts causing problems again when she becomes interested in Sam Decker (Jsu Garcia), one of her professors. Debbie soon learns that she has a rival for Sam’s affections in Carla (Katherine Kendall), Sam’s girlfriend, and this proves to be bad for the long-term health of all parties concerned. Debbie also finds she doesn’t get along especially well with her new roommate, Laney (Jeanette Brox). Devil in the Flesh 2 was also screened under the title Teacher’s Pet. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi |

The House of the Devil $21.02 Rated: RSynopsis: At once a sly tribute to ’80s-era grind-house cinema and a remarkable exercise in suspense, writer-director Ti West’s House of the Devil is a terrific–and terrifying–horror film that can be enjoyed by genre fans and outsiders alike. West’s premise hinges on the “Satanic panic” that gripped America during the Reagan era–in a nutshell, the urban legend posited that secret devil cults were kidnapping and sacrificing individuals by the thousands–and melds it with the tried-and-true babysitter in an old dark house scenario. The house in question is the property of the Ulmans (cult faves Tom Noonan and Mary Woronov), and the babysitter (newcomer Jocelin Donahue) is needed to simply keep an eye on things–and an unseen mother upstairs–until midnight, when, coincidentally, a total eclipse will occur. But the chills that ensue–and there are plenty–are driven more by slow-building atmosphere than by the bloody effects that sum up ’80s shocks. That’s not to say that there isn’t gore on display, but it’s not the film’s raison d’être; neither are the nostalgic trappings, which are kept to a tasteful minimum. The end result is a genuinely unsettling horror effort that brands West as an indie director who’s more than capable of moving up to the majors. The disc includes two informative commentary tracks, the first by West and Donahue, and the other with West, producers Larry Fessenden (The Last Winter) and Peter Phok, and sound designer Graham Reznick; there’s also a pair of making-of featurettes and three deleted scenes, one of which, involving the Ulmans’ mother, is worth a look. The original trailer for House of the Devil, as well as spots for other Dark Sky releases, round out the extras. –Paul Gaita The Horror Film of the Year available on DVD. Sam (Donahue) is a pretty college sophomore, so desperate to earn some cash for a deposit on an apartment that she accepts a babysitting job even after she finds out there is no baby. Mr. and Mrs. Ulman (cult actors Noonan and Woronov) are the older couple who lure Sam out to their creaky Victorian mansion deep in the woods, just in time for a total lunar eclipse. Megan (Gerwig) is Sam’s best friend, who gives her a ride out to the house, and reluctantly leaves her there despite suspecting that something is amiss. Victor (Bowen) at first seems like just a creepy guy lurking around the house, but quickly makes it clear that Sam will end this night in a bloody fight for her life. . . 2009 Top 10 List Selections:TimeOut New YorkThe OnionAMCtvSound on Sight |

Ride With the Devil $9.89 Rated: RSynopsis: After brilliantly recreating the 1970s in the The Ice Storm, director Ang Lee and writer/producer James Schamus delve deeper into American history with this violent, visually striking Civil War drama. Tobey Maguire stars as a young man who comes of age fighting for the South in the bloody guerilla war waged on the Missouri/Kansas border. Ride With The Devil sidesteps any overt politics, focusing instead on the vigilante ethos and male bonding of the freewheeling band of hotheaded state patriots known as “bushwhackers.” As he begins to question the cause for which they are fighting, the ever-sensitive Maguire emerges as the group’s conscience. Strong performances by Skeet Ulrich, Simon Baker, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, and James Caviezel as brothers in arms play well against Maguire’s boyish charm, and Jeffrey Wright smolders with quiet charisma as the sole black bushwhacker. Male energy abounds here, nicely offset by pop star Jewel in her screen debut. As the war widow who captures Ulrich’s heart, the comely poet and singer bares more than her soul. Gregory BairdA complex tale of uneasy alliances along the Kansas/Missouri border during the Civil War, Ride with the Devil concerns Jack Bull Chiles (Skeet Ulrich), a proud son of the South ready to fight for the Confederate cause after his father is killed by Union troops. Chiles’s best friend, Jake Roedel (Tobey Maguire), joins the Bushwhackers, a group of renegade Southerners aligned with the Confederate Army, even though his family supports the Union cause. The two young men, used to the slow pace and gracious lifestyle of the South’s privileged class, are soon confronted with the chaos of battle. Their comrades include valiant leader Black John (James Caviezel), paranoid madman Pitt (Jonathan Rhys Myers), Southern gentleman George (Simon Baker), and Daniel (Jeffrey Wright), a slave from George’s plantation. The Bushwhackers hide out in a barn near the home of Sue Lee (singer/songwriter/poet Jewel, in her film debut), a pregnant widow whose husband died in battle three weeks after their marriage. Roedel and Sue Lee begin a chaste romance, but it remains to be seen if the war will permit them to stay together. Adapted from the novel Woe to Live On by Daniel Woodrell, Ride with the Devil was directed by Ang Lee, whose previous project was a very different look at America’s past, the 1970s domestic drama The Ice Storm (1997). Speak to the Devil $6.99 In the Kingdom of Jorgary, the days of feudal chivalry are fading as national armies are formed. But Ottokar Magnus is still baron, and his host of brothers include Anton, an ambitious young soldier, and Wulfgang, an amiable teenager. Unable to seek his fortune as a knight errant, Anton has enlisted with the royal Jorgarian hussars and taken Wulf along as his servant. There is magic in Jorgary, but it is regarded as Satanism, rituals performed by Speakers who are in contact with the Devil. The Speakers, though, believe that the Voices they hear belong to saints. Anton is not a Speaker…but Wulf is. Anxious to impress the court, Anton exhibits spectacular horsemanship at a royal hunt, with a little boost from Wulf. Two nights later he is dragged before Cardinal Zdenek, the kingÂ’s chief minister. Zdenek offers him an earldom and anything else he could dream of if he will ride at once to a strategic fortress at Cardice and take command there. The count and his son have died, victims of both treason and witchcraft. The cardinal thinks that neighboring enemies are preparing to invade, using “modern” arms to capture the fort. Mortal resources alone will not suffice, but Zdenek knows that AntonÂ’s improbable jump at the hunt was aided by supernatural power. Anton wants nothing to do with this mission, but WulfÂ’s Voices tell him that they should accept the charge. The result is a harrowing ride through limbo with astonishing results. |

Meanwhile, Mama has to deal with a violent, vengeful sheriff (William Forsythe). The Devil’s Rejects features Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, Sheri Moon, Michael Berryman, and Ken Foree, among other cult horror regulars. ~ Tracie Cooper, Rovi |

Devil’s Miner w/Subtitles $14.6 Rated: NASynopsis: Two brothers, 14-year-old Basilio and 12-year-old Bernardino, work deep inside the silver mines of Cerro Rico, Bolivia. In the mines, which date back to the sixteenth century, it is said the devil determines the fate of those who enter. The devil is everywhere, watching – carved statues called “Tios” are scattered throughout the tunnels, and the miners, including the young brothers, bring offerings to them daily. Raised without a father and living in virtual poverty with their family on the slopes of the mine, Basilio and his brother must work to help support their family and afford supplies vital to their education. As we come to know them, we see their fears and hopes for their future, and occasionally glimpse childlike souls peeking through their stoic faces. Trusting in an ancient belief that the devil determines the fate of all those who work in the mines, Basilio believes only the mountain devil’s generosity will allow them to earn enough money to continue the new school year – their only chance of escaping their destiny in the silver mines. |

Santos (Don Stroud) is a pedophile and a crime boss. He hires Romeo to steal a truck filled with human fetuses that are slated to be used for cosmetic experiments. Romeo accepts but feels he must make a human sacrifice before he goes. This bothers Perdita not a bit and she even picks out a pair of blonde teens for the ritual killing. The two crooks kidnap the kids, ritually feather them, sexually abuse them, and are preparing to kill them when Romeo’s cheated partner shows up with policemen. The crooks and their prey manage to escape, but the scheme to commandeer the truck gets botched and an ensuing shootout between Santos’ men and DEA agents goes wrong. Santos loses many men and swears revenge upon Romeo and Perdita, who continue on their journey with their two doomed victims. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi |

Eye Of The Devil – Widescreen B&W $24.99 A fine cast distinguishes this unusual supernatural thriller. When London-based vintner Phillippe de Montfaucon (David Niven) receives the bad news that dry weather is expected to destroy crops in his vineyard in France for the third year in a row, he immediately leaves for his castle on the continent, Bellenac, instructing his wife Catherine (Deborah Kerr) to stay behind with their children. However, Catherine’s curiosity gets the better of her and she arrives at Bellenac to discover that the villagers who tend the grapes and watch the castle are members of a pagan cult, and that they believe the death of Marquis may be required for the future health of the crops. While pre-release editing left its narrative a bit fragmented, Eye of the Devil is certainly notable for its cast, which includes Donald Pleasance, Edward Mulhare, David Hemmings, and Sharon Tate. Kim Novak was originally cast as Catherine, but was forced to bow out midway through shooting due to an injury. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi |
