Do you think an author should write a book with a protagonist of the same race?

Personally I really could care less about race and ethnicity as when it comes to life. It's what inside that matters more than skin color. I'm working on a fantasy series for young adults in recent weeks, and my main character (who is a woman) is being targeted. I African-American and one person in particular was brought to me I'm "selling" just because my main character is African American. Because of the way I imagined the story, I really could not follow with the idea if it was dirty. Therefore, the next best thing he could do and have done your best black friend - and the story works quite well. What do you think? Did you know you see a problem with writing a book with a main character of another race? Thoughts? Comments? His vision would be greatly appreciated! The point of writing is to use your imagination. I am the white man but I can write about a young black man who is 10 and his father's abuse and no history she is trying to survive the living hell where I can write about it. 1.) No 2 have to be black.) Have not a child of three.) Do not even have parents who abuse me. I can use my imagination and I could not understand how to react, how could he speak, and felt. A good writer uses his experience to help write a story, a great writer not use the experience of writing a story. Only must ensure that their research is correct according to what they write. You should not limit yourself, because it limits the options that you would be able to choose when writing your story. Do not show your work until it is fully realized. Hope this helps.
